You and your furry best friend are cordially invited to join Prescott Dog Magazine for the 15th Annual DOGtoberfest and Adopt-A-Thon, Sunday October 2nd at Watson Lake Park. DOGtoberfest is the largest and longest running canine adoption in Northern Arizona.  The event is presented by the Prescott Dog Magazine in partnership with our sponsors. This event has something for everyone.  It’s definitely, a fun family event!!!

Would you like to see dogs put through their paces by expert handlers?  We have demos all day!  Would you like to enter your dog in a costume contest?  We have a costume contest, Pet/Owner Look-A-Like, Best Trick or Talent and the perennial favorite, Best Looking Dog contest.   Do you have questions about your dog? Answers are available!  All this and more, wraps up the best reason to spend the day surrounded by the beauty of Watson Lake Park with your best furry friend.

What?  You don’t have a furry best friend right now? That’s O.K. The event hosts rescue agencies from all overthe state of Arizona including;  The Arizona Border Collie Rescue, The Big Luck Club, United Animal Friends, Humane Society of Wickenburg, Dogtree Pines Senior Sanctuary,  Rescue A Golden Arizona, Southwest Labrador Rescue, AARF Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Petey’ Playground, Verde Valley Humane Society,  Saving Paws German Sheperd Rescue, Chino Valley Animal Shelter, Yavapai Humane Trappers, Camp Golden Years, Sedona Humane Society, Heeling Heelers Hearts, Arizona Cattle Dog Rescue, Pets Return Home  and Yavapai Humane Society.

Speaker’s Corner will be located on the main green at DOGtoberfest.

DOGtoberfest hosts dozens of area non-profit organizations each year; such as the Yavapai County Food Bank, Animal Disaster Services, CASA for Kids, the American Cancer Society, Gabriel’s Angels, Heritage Park Zoo, the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, The Arizona Rangers, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Lions Club, several area churches, the YCSO – VIP’s, K9 Search and Rescue and the Jeep Posse who keep us all safe in the parking area.

DOGtoberfest wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors. They sponsor all of the non-profit organizations that we invite.  The non-profit organizations attend DOGtoberfest free of charge.  I am so grateful and say, Thank you to Findlay Subaru, OneAZ Credit Union, Premier Pet Clinic, and those that have sponsored DOGtoberfest from the very beginning; Prescott Animal Hospital, Olsen’s for Healthy Animals, Farbenholt Dog Training and Yavapai Broadcasting KKLD, KVRD, KQST and KVNAfm.

We hope to see you at DOGtoberfest and hope that you discover the “Dog of your life,” that’ll fill and complete your life.    Plus, when you adopt, you save two lives, the one that you adopt and the one that will be entering the shelter soon.
