Mark your calendars and lace up your sneakers – Yavapai Humane Society (YHS) is excited to announce our upcoming Walk & 5K Fun Run for the Animals, held in partnership with DOGtoberfest! This much-anticipated event will take place on Sunday, October 6th, starting at 9 a.m. at beautiful Watson Lake.
This year, we are thrilled to introduce the 5K Fun Run, brought to you by our incredible sponsor, Team Charity Case. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or prefer a leisurely stroll, there’s something for everyone. Participants can choose between a scenic 1-mile walk or challenge themselves with the full 5K (3.1 miles) route. Both options offer a fantastic opportunity to get active while showing your support for the animals of YHS.
Registration is easy! Visit yavapaihumane.org and you can register through a link there or by scanning the QR code which will take you right to the registration site! The 1-mile route is only $40 and includes a long-sleeved t-shirt with our amazing 2024 logo on it! The 5K route has two different options: $50 and you receive a custom Finishers Cup, and $75 which includes the Finishers Cup and the t-shirt!

Stay for DOGtoberfest!
After the Walk & 5K Fun Run, the fun doesn’t stop! Stick around for Prescott Dog Magazine’s annual Adoption Event, DOGtoberfest, happening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This festive celebration is a great way to cap off the morning, with plenty of activities for you and your furry friends. Expect a fun atmosphere with food trucks, vendors, contests, demonstrations and more – all in the spirit of the animals looking for a home in our community.
More than 15 rescues will be on hand, all with dogs looking for their furever families! If you’ve adopted from DOGtoberfest before, we’d love to see you and your furry friend! The event is free, and parking is only $5!
So, bring your family, friends, and, of course, your pets, and join us for a day filled with fun, fitness, and furry companions.
